Boike writes, “We just celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9th. Yet what was a day of great joy for many of us was a day of deep, unthinkable grief for so many more.” He continues, “At least 40,000 children have lost a parent to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
