There are two subjects I find myself discussing a lot as a financial advisor: Money and love. And, February is the month that finds me talking about them both, pretty much all month long. After all, February is the month of love. And, we humans have come to realize that more relationships that started out loving have been broken up because of money issues. So, getting both, love and money established on the right foot, is a very important undertaking.
In my opinion, both love and money deserve our undivided attention. It’s not impossible to live without either, but it’s so much more rewarding and enjoyable living with both. At least that is my experience and the experience of so many people with whom I have the privilege of working.
Many people don’t understand that it’s necessary to have a “relationship” with money. You don’t just have money or make money, you actually have a relationship with it as if it were an extension of yourself. You put your heart and soul into your work, and you receive money for your efforts. So, money truly is an extension of yourself. When you take care of your money as well as you take care of your own health, home and other belongings, your money can then take care of you. Handled wisely, your money will allow you to provide for your family, retire comfortably and leave a loving gift to those people and organizations that you have supported throughout your life.
How’s your relationship with money? Is it solid and being nurtured wisely? Could it be that your love relationship is suffering due to a less than healthy money relationship? I wish everyone love and financial wellbeing. If you think your financial relationship could be improved, give us a call. Helping improve the financial wellbeing of our clients is our number one love.
